Hemp oil and CBD oil are hot topics, but do you know the difference between them?
Are they similar and can they be used interchangeably?
Short answer is no, they are not similar. While both are derived from the hemp plant, the name given to Cannabis plants with little to no THC, they come from different parts of the plant and they are very different products.
Hemp oil and CBD oil are very different products
CBD oil is extracted from hemp stalks, flowers and leaves and is used in the alternative/holistic medicine arena.
Hemp oil, also commonly referred to as hemp seed oil, is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. The seeds are cold-pressed to produce a very diverse and nutritionally strong oil.
Hemp oil is often unrefined, the color is clear green and it has a nutty flavor. It’s similar to other cooking-type oils and is commonly used in cooking and skin care products.

CBD oil contains a high concentration of CBD (Cannabidiol), which is a cannabinoid with numerous potential health benefits.

Some shady characters even attempt to capitalize on the booming CBD buzz with unethical, impure, and many downright “fake” products.
